When families lose a baby in the womb, the cries of birth go unheard; the grasp of tiny fingers slips away. This profound loss needs articulation.  Join us in a prayer gathering to commend our children communally into the embrace of our merciful God and to support those who are grieving the loss of a child.

It is so very hard to heal alone. Christian rituals allow grieving parents to gather in the embrace of their divine community in Christ, for no one is independent as we share in the life of Christ through our baptism.

About the Liturgy

As human beings, we mark and give expression to our life’s experiences, from the time a new life is born to the time of its death, in all their extraordinary experiences, in both joy and sorrow.  Learn more about the upcoming diocesan memorial liturgy happening on Nov 24, 2022.

Do not be discouraged and do not lose hope. Allow the consolation and love of God to penetrate and heal your wounded heart.  Know that your child is now living in the Lord and joyfully awaits the day when you will be together again.
"For those who trust in God, in the pain of sorrow there is consolation, in the face of despair there is hope, in the midst of death there is life." (Book of Blessings no. 285)
